BeaverTails® Trenton & Homestead Adventure Park

Homestead Marketplace is hiring a full-time Director of Operations/General Manager for BeaverTails Trenton and Homestead Adventure Park. We are looking for a candidate who is friendly, enthusiastic, and community focused, who has great communication and leadership skills, and displays strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Homestead Adventure Park is a family-friendly outdoor destination that combines an 18-hole mini-putt course with 16 high ropes challenges, a remote control boat pond, and the iconic Canadian restaurant BEAVERTAILS® – or QUEUES DE CASTOR® in French. BeaverTails® restaurant provides our guests with a range of sweet treats and savory options and offers indoor seating, as well as outdoor seating on a large patio overlooking the park.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director of Operations/General Manager is responsible for the overall operations, customer experience, hiring and training, and performance of BeaverTails® Trenton and Homestead Adventure Park. As a valued member of our customer focused management team, you will work closely with the various departments to help ensure that all visitors to BeaverTails® Trenton and Homestead Adventure Park have an outstanding experience, beginning from the moment they enter Homestead Marketplace to the time they exit the parking lot. You will ensure a well-trained, enthusiastic staff is in place to deliver great guest service and enforce safety guidelines.

Previous experience in the food or hospitality industry would be greatly valued, but is not required. Training will be provided and remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience.

This position also requires the ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays and evenings when necessary. BeaverTails® Trenton will be open 12 months of the year and Homestead Adventure Park will be open 6 months of the year.

About Homestead Marketplace

Homestead Marketplace is a collection of 12 like-minded, community-driven companies locally owned and operated. It is a destination where families will come together to shop, eat, and play – all with a strong focus on giving back to our community. Located at 6 Douglas Road in Quinte West, by the end of 2024 the 18-acre property will offer over 165,000 sq. ft. of premium, national retailers, casual dining restaurants, a fully-licensed sports grill, 24-hour gym and a one-of-a-kind 18-hole adventure golf and high ropes park.

What you’ll do to be successful in this role:

  • Supervise and manage all aspects of daily BeaverTails Trenton and Homestead Adventure Park operations
  • Train and develop a successful team
  • Provide an enjoyable, full-service experience to all customers
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews providing feedback, coaching and accountability
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures to maintain excellence in service and quality and to ensure proper controls
  • Monitor financial performance and take action to meet budgetary guidelines
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels throughout the season
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Experience managing a team
  • Strong communication skills and organizational experience
  • Solid judgment and strategic decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good time management skills and work ethic
  • Work flexibility, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Gmail/Calendar/Drive are beneficial
